2 Simple Tips on How to Relieve Your Neck, Shoulder and Back Pain

Every cases of neck, shoulder and back pain vary from individual to individual. Up to now, there is no one treatment that works for everyone. Muscular tension is one of the major causes of neck, shoulder and back pain. Here are two simple tips which will help you to heal the pain immediately and temporarily.

1. Rest

Many people overlooked the significant of having a good rest. Having a good rest can bring a lot of goodness to your body. The following are four benefits of taking a good rest:

a. It can allow your body to heal itself. When you rest, your body will feel calmer. It will involuntary change your nerve and hormone system from being dynamic to a relaxed condition.

b. It also allows your mind and emotion to wind down. This will encourage and expedite the healing and relaxation of your tension and stress.

c. It also allows your muscles to relax. This will relieve muscular tension. Doing some exercises will expedite the recovery processes.

d. It can calms down inflamed tissue problems such as overstretching or nerve irritation. Rest yourself in a comfortable and well supported position to avoid any strain on the inflated tissues.

2. Relaxation

Rest is always closely associated with relaxation. Studies show that relaxation can release tension in your body muscles and quiets your mind. Relaxation also helps your mind and body to heal faster by altering the nerve and hormone activities. In order to achieve a lasting effect, practice the following routines frequently for several weeks.

a. Find a quiet place. Lie down on a firm but comfortable surface for about twenty minutes. You can also do this in a sit up position.

b. Concentrate on breathing slowly and deeply using your abdominal muscles. Let your mind go still. Visualize a pleasant image or memory.

c. Concentrate on your body muscles and contract them starting from the neck, shoulder, abdomen and legs for 5 seconds each. Then relax them for about ten seconds. Repeat the processes three times.

d. If you have any pain, outline that area in your mind. Keep trying to pin it down. Tense the area for 5 seconds, then let go. Repeat this processes three times. You can feel the pain slowly melting away. Do not be disappointed if you can not tie all the pain. A slight easing is a good sign and the pain will all go away in time.

e. Be aware of your whole body feeling relaxed. Enjoy the feeling and visualize some peaceful sights, tastes, sounds and sensations. Make a sound if you wish.
