You are definitely a strong and determined guy – but dude, face it that the way that you're managing your diabetes was relevant 10-20 years ago. If you get a system like the Medtronic 670G with automode, or even build your own DIY system like LOOP maintaining an A1C under 6.5% will be a cakewalk for someone as determined as yourself. One thing I want to say is don't beat yourself up over having a sugar of 130, or even 140. We have to come to grips with the fact that we're diabetic and do not having a working pancreas to perfectly control our blood sugars. The only system that can control your sugars (next best thing) is a closed-loop pump where the sensor tells the pump every five minutes how much insulin to give you. Bro! You'll just wear it underneath your cloths and 70% of the time you won't think of diabetes. I know how much of a nightmare this disease is man. I faced it for six months where my A1C was a 6.0% but in order to achieve such strict numbers I was going hypoglycemic nearly every day. Even with the pump my numbers aren't perfect but they are significantly under greater control; in fact a few orders magnitude higher. Dude, I know you want to document your journey, but quite honestly we as diabetics don't want to do MDI and check 10 times a day or even wake up at night four to five times. Get the closed-loop system and you'll only check twice a day.
