Testimony: From Death to Life – Redeemed From Drug Addiction (I Should Be Dead)

#Smoking #Self-Hypnosis #SkinCare #Skin #Sleep

From my rabid drug addiction (I went into rehab on 65mg methadone a day: a seriously lethal amount), to almost losing my life twice, God has redeemed me and I now make my life an open act of repentance…he is using me to reach the sick and the dead.

I have given the FULL TRUTH of how bad things were, because I am no longer bound in sin, and have been set free from the BURDEN Of DEATH through the SAVING GRACE AND MERCY of the one and only Messiah. The devil has shamed me my entire life, but now I have the VICTORY. The serpent has no hold on me. THANK YOU JESUS!!!

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Because I have accepted the free gift of Jesus’ sacrifice for my sins, when I pass from here into eternity I will be a PART of my Creator forever. There is no man that is righteous apart from the Lord Jesus Christ. So, in all of God’s omnipotence, he has made a way for us to be with him. (but only if we want to).

There are only two places to spend eternity. Choose Jesus or perish. There are legal rights to your soul. You are either owned by God, or satan.
The choice is yours (whom will you bow down to?).

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

~1 Corinthians 1:3-9

"It is a difficult road…which is why not many want to do it the Jesus way." – Real Eyes

Yes. The Way is through much tribulation. By just being ourselves, we carry our cross.
Thank you for sharing, fearless daughter of the Most High. Much love –

    CROSS TO BEAR

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. -Luke 9:23

Each child of God has his own cross to bear. Our Savior, Christ Jesus, redeemed us by bearing ALL of our sins – past, present and future. Therefore, our daily cross CANNOT be the sins we commit, daily. If we believe that we bear our own sins, then we make His life, death and resurrection of no value to us, and our faith is in vain. So, what IS the cross that we bear?

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. -Galatians 6:1-2

We should bear one another's burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ. We should help, support and comfort our brethren in times of trouble and hardship. We should be there to listen to one another's problems and pray God will relieve our burdens, or provide for our needs, or strengthen us to endure, and make His will to be known. So then, this is our daily cross?
But.. isn't this what we should be doing for EVERY person that we meet – even our enemies? This verse about the bearing of one another's burdens, is concerning our love for the BRETHREN, not our love for our enemies – not even our love for our lost and unbelieving neighbors. So, let's read that part again:

'Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.'

If one of our brethren is overtaken in a fault, we should restore them. So, to bear one another's burdens means that we should help each other to SEE our faults; help each other to realize that we've fallen to temptation – and be careful not to succumb to that same temptation. This would be a foolish thing to try with a professing non-believer: unproductive at best, not a good witness of our faith, and dangerous to our own selves, as they may turn again and rend us. – We should not cast our pearls before swine.
And this is not the same thing as listening to one another's problems, either. – In fact, it's almost just the opposite. It's INFORMING one another of obvious faults that they may not be fully aware. Or, being there to help and encourage our brethren, who ARE aware that they have been overtaken in a fault, and restoring them in the spirit of meekness.
So, bearing one another's burdens CANNOT be our daily cross – for we do not do this every day. And to be honest, we rarely do this at all – with any success. We don't like others pointing out our faults, and we don't like pointing out theirs. We will quickly judge the accuser with, 'Nobody is perfect.' So, let's move on to the next verse:

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. -Galatians 6: 3-5

Every person shall bear their own burden; every person shall bear their own cross, everyday.
So, what is the cross that we bear? Most of us have burdens, problems and issues that we deal with on a daily basis. Most of us have plenty of reasons to pray for our Father's help, strength and comfort – daily. Some days are better than others, and by His grace, some burdens are relieved – some permanently. Others are not. Sometimes, our Father sees fit to bring new challenges into our lives.
Some of the greatest challenges we face are often seen by others, even fellow believers, as simple blessings: financial success, popularity and promotion – to name a few. Such blessings tend to give us the false idea that we are especially favored by Him, and we may be tempted of our own vanity. They also come with His expectation of faithful increase on our part; He reaps where He sows not. We tend to overlook this fact, when we are given His blessings, and neglect our sacred duty that comes along with them. He brings us up higher, so that we might DO more – not BE more.

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
    -Hebrews 12:7

On the other hand, those trials, issues, hardships and heartaches that we are faced with, are for our OWN benefit. Our Merciful Father tears us down in our physical bodies, brings tragedy and sorrow into our lives, causes financial ruin, and destroys our pride utterly and completely – to break us; to prove to us exactly how meaningless our present condition is, in the flesh. He shows us how to be truly content in all things.
As His children, we should always seek His guidance in everything we do, whether pleasant or difficult. We are bound by obedience to His will in our lives, though it is often far less complicated to serve Him in poverty, than in luxury; in humility, than in abundance. His grace is sufficient, and without Him, anything we do is pointless and fruitless.
God GAVE a thorn in the flesh to Paul:

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -2 Corinthians 12: 8-9

Though burdensome, our broken bodies, heavy hearts, personal trials and tribulations are not our daily cross. These may be simply too unbearable – crushing us to the very Spirit within. Most of us have our own sad story, some sadder than others, and we come to know the power of the living God through them, that the power of Christ may rest upon us. We HAVE to put these burdens in His hands; This is not our cross to bear.
Jesus told us to PICK UP our cross and follow Him. He also said that His burden is LIGHT – meaning that we are able to bear it of ourselves. Our daily cross is the same for each of us. Let's go back and look at that part again, from the book of Galatians:

'But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden.'

This is our daily cross – proving our own work. This is the burden we bear. Every child of God will be judged by the Father, according to this. Whatever the circumstances of our lives, God has placed us there. He knows exactly what we're going through because He is PUTTING us through it. We must prove ourselves to HIM – not to the world, and not to each other. For we need only to please God, not men.

If you are able, try this (or picture it, if you will): Stand upright with your legs straight and together, and stretch your arms out by your sides as wide as you can – This is your cross to bear. Your daily cross is YOU – your mind, body and soul. You pick it up by the Spirit within you, each and every day .. as Jesus did, while He was on the earth:

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
    -Matthew 16:24
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
    -Matthew 27:32

That is the word of God from the gospel according to Matthew. This is His word from the gospel according to Mark:

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
    -Mark 8:34
And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.
    -Mark 15:21

Here again, is the word of God from the gospel according to Luke:

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
    -Luke 9:23
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
    -Luke 23:26

Now compare these to the word of God from the gospel according to John, the disciple whom Jesus loved:

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha
    -John 19:17

There is no contradiction in these accounts. Each of these four are true; The harmony of the Gospels is in perfect tune. Jesus picked up His own cross every day and went about His Father's business – from the manger to Calvary.
In like manner, we bear our own cross, too.

I knew we had a lot more in common than True Salvation/The Holy Spirit, we are both recovering opiate addicts..been five+ years now, and that was my Testimony, God Saved my life during an emergency room overdose!
You are not alone, and that is not to diminish the pain, for we all have our own issues, and Sanctification is a lifelong process :)

Praise Our Heavenly Father, in the Name of Our/The LORD Jesus Christ..

Amazing testimony Kelly!! Your husband is a good man praise the Lord for him. I once heard someone say something along the lines of "he who has been forgiven of much, loves much" I mighta quoted that wrong, but I always interpreted it as like, the worse you were before you give your life to Christ, the stronger and more powerful you are after. I'm not sure if there's anything to that, but it always seems to me that anyone who has such powerful testimonies like yourself happens to have just a different fire in their spirit. So glad to see what the Holy Spirit is doing through you. God Bless you sister…youll always have my support.

Many blessings and love to you, blessed sister! I pray our Father blesses you for sharing this. This made me emotional. I’ve never dealt with addictions like this. I’m too weak to have gone through things like this and I’m so thankful God knows the little strength I have on my own, so what I’ve been through, comparatively, hasn’t been all that bad, but it was bad enough in my short life that i called out to God when i did.
I’ve mainly only ever dealt with depression and failing at almost everything I try to do. I’m only now getting to the point that I accept that I’m not a failure, but a loved creation of God. Perhaps one day I’ll share my testimony on here. If I get a chance.
    Much love to you, sister!
