I started smoking when I was 9 and being 37 with a two year old, I realized I needed to quit because smoking two packs a day doesn't allow me to keep up with him for very long and I'd really like to do that.

I put the patch on sunday morning when I woke up and each day since, I've been experimenting with different solutions ranging from patch only days to a mix of patches, gum and even smoking. But I must admit doing things, anything really, is extremely difficult due to how addicted I am and how unsatisfying the replacement products are. I've lied to myself very often to make it this far and in doing so have been extremely successful in doing what seamed impossible a few weeks ago.

Sunday and Monday where patch only days and wow wee I sure went nuts and found some tea's to be calming. Tea has helped a lot to pacify different types of cravings and I've been experimenting with mixing different tea's together to create new flavors and some of which are very calming. Camomile tea can be mixed with flavors you like to give a calming feeling that still taste good.

Tuesday was patch, gum and the first day I tried adding a smoke into the mix and wow, I must admit it was disgusting even after a short amount of abstinence but ohhhhh the feeling of calmness was amazing and decided to increase the amount of smokes I have in a day but in a very controlled way where my wife holds them for me. My goals for actual smokes is no more than 10% of what I smoked before but with a forgiving attitude if I smoke more than I want as long as I self correct when things start getting bad. My wife will give my all the smokes I ask for and is more holding them to avoid the automatic smoking action.

Wednesday I had three smokes but two of them were too closes together and the second smoke didn't give the relief I needed and stopped smoking for the day. They didn't taste good and didn't help so why bother was the idea I had.

Tuesday I told myself I was going the store to buy smokes but wouldn't buy smokes (lied to myself) and when I got near the store I kept walking and went to the super market where I spent all the cash I had on different types of tea.

Today I hit youtube to find this video and started with hopes of finding more tools to deal with my cravings and this video helped a lot. For one, it basically confirmed my strategies for quitting are on the right track and I'm thankful for the confirmation and to be given a clearer goal, the goal is to quit over time and to keep trying anything that might work in hopes that it does.

I know I have a long and difficult path ahead but I'll keep bouncing off walls until I'm done :)

    Thanks for listening!

    step 1~stop bullshitting yourself.
step 2~ go cold turkey, suck it up. its not easy but it's better than not quitting.

    wake up people.
