In this day and age, many events make us live on edge, and thus make our lives stressful. There are many methods through which we can de-stress and relax. A back massage really does help. Our backs take a lot from all the demands of our lifestyles, and so unraveling the different knots in our backs takes some of the tension away, thus relaxing us. If you want to have a good massage, one that will leave you relaxed, you need to see a trained masseuse. You can even get one from someone who is close to you.
To start with, you should have a light cloth wrapped around you to cover the areas of your body that are not being massaged. The next important thing is to pick aromatherapy oil that will help relax the tense muscles. It’s also important that you are lying down in a comfortable place.
With the masseuse either standing or sitting next to you, they should have one hand on your lower back and the other hand between your shoulder blades. Using their thumbs, they should press gently on the outside of the spine, starting at the lower back and going upwards towards your neck. Essential oils such as lavender can be added once the masseuse has gotten to your neck. In a gliding motion, they should then slide their hands towards the pelvis and then moves their hands in an outward motion towards your hips.
After the back massage, the neck and shoulders should also be treated. The massage should be in a circular motion, working over all the areas that are knotted and tense. After this, you should get off the table feeling relaxed and fresh.
