Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of disability. Almost 652,091 people die of heart disease in the US each year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that in 2009, 785,000 Americans will have a new coronary attack, and about 470,000 will have a recurrence attack.

Every day, 3,000 Americans suffer from heart attacks, and more than 1,200 of them die. In fact, heart disease is the number one killer in the US for men and women. Heart disease is America's number one killer, taking as many lives as almost everything else combined.

Also, according to the CDC, in 2009, heart disease is planned to cost more than $ 304 billion, including health care services, lost productivity, and medicines.

What can we do to prevent heart disease? Is it even possible? Well, proper diet and exercise is vital. Watching what you eat and getting off of your butt is a great start. Get moving! Even moderate exercise done daily will benefit you and your heart very much. This will help you moderate your weight and help reduce stress … a high factor in heart disease.

If you smoke STOP! Come on, why smoke anyway? You're inhaling thousands of harmful chemicals each time you puff. All you are doing is constricting the blood vessels and putting yourself in harms way. Oh, if you are a woman and on birth control, you are at greater risk of having a stroke or heart attack. So stop having a couple of smokers at the bar. It's killing you! And the great thing about quitting? After just one year you will have dramatically reduced the chances of having a heart attack. It's never too late to quit!

Reducing the amount of oxidative stress, which causes aging and related diseases, may also have a substantial effect on helping to prevent heart disease. Oxidative stress is an imbalance between the production of highly reactive oxygen molecules, called free radicals, and the special antioxidant enzymes that neutralize the free radicals. Basically this means there are more bad guys than good guys, and this imbalance results in aging and related health issues including heart disease. And as you age, this imbalance becomes even more significant as your body produces more more free radicals than antioxidant enzymes.

So what to do about it? Common theory is to consume as many antioxidants as you can. But unfortunately this is a losing proposition. Why? Because "consumable" antioxidants like Vitamin C & E, along with special "berry" juices fight "one to one" and there are way too many free radicals. The number of free radicals your body produces, each and everyday, is a 1 followed by 23 zero's. Now, I'm not saying do not eat those fruits and vegetables' cause they do help but it's just not enough. That's a helluva lot of free radicals! You would have to eat 31 lbs of raspberries each and every day to combat these free radicals and that still would not be enough.

So, let's build an army …

Recently I discovered a nutritional supplement called Protandim . In my research I found that taking Protandim helps combat free radicals by helping your body create its own antioxidants, just like you did when you were a baby. It's been peer reviewed and scientifically proven to help combat free radicals at a rate of 1 million antioxidants … a second! That's 1 million little "pacman's" each and every second, munching away on free radicals and reducing oxidative stress!

Can Protandim prevent heart disease? Well, if it is able to slow the aging process by helping your body create the antioxidants just like you did when you were a baby, then theoretically it will help prevent age related diseases such as heart disease.

Take care of your heart. Take care of your life!

To your longevity,
