My dad had a really bad low and didn't have his medicine. We tried to give him juice. He couldn't walk or anything. I was probably 9. My mom brought him to the hospital. A few days later he was fine because they had insulent.
Now my dad has a pump so it doesn't happen because it does it itself

It's really interesting how Paige came up with the "you are greater than your highs and lows" merch idea. I always wondered how you came with this incredible idea. Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us and I believe that this story will help raise more awareness about type 1 diabetes. ❤

A hypoglycemic attack is very scary for the person and for those around you. Speaking from experience, well in my case the first time that I had experienced a low blood sugar, I couldn't remember getting from my bedroom to the dining room, telling my family I was fine. just sweating profusely (mom new better of course) but not sure what to do, luckily our neighbor was a nurse and told them to give me orange juice w/ couple teaspoons of sugar (yuck) it took sometime to get me to drink any of it. when my sugar levels came back up, I started to feel cold, from all the sweating and my body felt really rundown, I was super tired all I wanted was sleep. I have had a few other minor incidents through the years and one major one, that had me blacking out while driving.

I'm a Type 2 diabetic and I use a pump and the sensors too. I can really relate to the low blood sugar and shovelling food in I can't explain to other people the compulsion to get food in your body when your low. I am always happy to answer peoples questions when they ask what the sensor is but I have had a couple of occasions when someone has tried to take it off!! As I pay for the sensors myself I was not happy! I have sometimes thought about telling people that it's a tracking device or I'm on day release from prison if they don't ask me in a nice way 😀
