Video transcript:
My name is Dr. James Allen Gaunt.
I’m an ear nose and throat physician and surgeon
here at Mosaic Life Care.
Yeah, so the biggest influence on me to go into medicine was my father.
He was an ear, nose and throat surgeon.
So growing up in a household with an ear, nose and throat surgeon I was
I was exposed to it constantly.
And my mother she’s an internist,
so I kind of had the fight between
medicine and surgery.
But, I went with my dad to his medical meetings every single year
and I got exposed to ear, nose and throat
from a very early age.
So as soon as I decided that I wanted to go into medicine,
when I was in college,
there was really
no other career path that I that I thought about
in a world of medicine other
than ear, nose and throat.
I’m probably one of the easiest going providers they’re ever going to meet.
I try to lay things down in plain English so that people can understand them.
I try not to use too much medical jargon.
And if I do use a lot of medical jargon,
please feel free to stop me.
But, I really do try to break things down for people
and to explain it
so that they
understand the full picture of both what I’m presenting that I would like to do,
and other options as well.
With every patient exchange,
you know,
you’re both a teacher and a learner.
Every time I’m with a patient,
they teach you so much
not just about medicine, but about life.
